This was us, last year, on Christmas Day.
We might notice we weren’t gathered around a roaring fire toasting chestnuts after spending a few hours sledding.
Those of us in the southern regions are still snowless and Christmas Day is currently predicted to be in the mid-50s. It doesn’t look like we will qualify for a Norman Rockwell portrait this year either.
No matter.
What’s an adventure? It’s taking what you are given and rolling with it. Give us three feet of snow and we’ll build a snow fort. Give us a 50-degree Christmas, and we’ll go to the beach.
Take some time this Christmas day and find an adventure. Go for a walk in the woods, sit on the porch, watch the chipmunks, listen to the chickadees. Who knows how long this will last? Make a memory while you can.
If you celebrate Christmas, we wish you a merry one.
If you don’t, we hope you enjoy the peace and quiet.
And if you go to the beach, keep an eye out.
We’ll probably be there.
